Project Updates

When a manufacturing client in Romania needed a large warehouse quickly, traditional new construction would have taken 9+ months. They turned to us for a faster, more cost-effective solution.

The Brief

The client needed a warehouse of approximately 2,000–2,500 m² for their expanding production operations. Speed was critical — every month of delay was costing them revenue.

Finding the Right Building

We identified a suitable 2,352 m² warehouse (42×56 m) in our Dutch inventory. The portal-frame structure was in excellent condition and matched the client’s requirements perfectly.

The Logistics Challenge

Relocating a building 1,800 km across international borders is no small feat. Our logistics team coordinated:

  • Dismantling at the original site in the Netherlands
  • Special transport permits for oversized loads across 4 countries
  • Cross-border customs documentation
  • Local contractor coordination in Romania for foundation and reassembly

The Result

The warehouse was fully operational in Romania within 12 weeks from project start:

  • 6+ months saved compared to new construction
  • ~45% cost reduction versus building new
  • Full structural warranty on the relocated building

“We were sceptical about using a second-hand building, but Resteel delivered a structure in excellent condition — on time and far below the cost of building new.” — Alexandru Popescu, Operations Manager
